A brief overview of the workshop on empathetic and inclusive communication under Youth Unite project
It was a unique opportunity to discuss language as a tool for communication and the formation of one’s own identity, mindfulness of words, and the importance of ethics in everyday communication. We had the chance to talk about linguistic etiquette and Japanese honorifics, the Sapir–Whorf hypothesis, and we also highlighted the androcentrism of the Polish language. We also devoted considerable time to a debate on the place of the Polish language on the contemporary map of European languages (particularly English).
Katarzyna Pawlik (psychologist and academic lecturer) complemented the linguistic dimension with her knowledge of psychology, thanks to which we were able to explore even more effectively the mysteries of the human psyche that governs our behaviour, including our verbal behaviour.
The event took place as part of the project “Youth Unite: Fostering Tolerance and Inclusivity through Education and Engagement” during European Youth Week (“All in for Change”).

We are starting a new project in the last month of 2025!
We are pleased to announce that we are starting the implementation of a new project co-funded from European Union. The project titled “Laugh Together: Bridging Differences through Youth Comedy Clubs” aims to use humour to promote intercultural dialogue and resilience among youth, providing a creative outlet for self-expression. It will help address trauma, enhance public speaking and critical thinking skills, and foster community ties through collaborative workshops and public performances. It aims to empower young people to engage with social issues, strengthen inclusion, tolerance, and youth work innovation, leaving a lasting impact on participants and communities.

The debate on tolerance – let’s discover the essence of it!
We are pleased to invite you all to the debate on tolerance that will be held in Kielce (Poland) on 17/10/2025 at Rynek 3. What did we feel about it?, Has it always been a guide for our actions? etc.
Let us seek answers together in the margins of the project “Youth Unite: Fostering Tolerance and Inclusivity through Education and Engagement”. We will be assisted by distinguished Guests: a Professor of Linguistics, a Cultural Studies Scholar, an Interdisciplinary Lawyer, a Career Counselling Specialist, and a Capuchin. We are also counting on input from the Audience, so we invite everyone interested to join us this Friday afternoon for a discussion.

Youth Unite staff attended the first Youth Days in Kielce
The event took place on 08.08.2025, gathering numerous organizations and participants (youth workers, youth councillors, teachers, trainers, educators, and young people) from the Swietokrzyskie region at the Kielce Market Square.
With great joy, Ph.D. Katarzyna Zapała presented the first result of our work – the report titled “Current State of Play,” in which the project team presented the findings they have been working on for months. Youth Unite staff analysed the national contexts through a literature review and identified the learning needs of youth workers by organizing focus groups. The participants were interested in the materials presented and inquired about the project’s findings and next steps.
If you are also interested in issues concerning racism, intolerance, and inclusion, you are more than welcome to review our report.

We attended the INTERNATIONAL COURSE on numeracy in Barcelona
We are proud to inform that Katarzyna Kowal and Katarzyna Zapała attended the INTERNATIONAL COURSE no 2 in Barcelona on September 5-6, 2023.
During two hectic days, in addition to the training, there were planned study visits to: the adult school “La Verneda – Sant Marti”, the Catalan Museum of Mathematics and the Gabriel García Márquez Public Library recognized as the best in the world in 2023 (by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions).
On the second day of the training, a lecture on good practices in distance learning, with particular emphasis on the role of surprise in the teaching process, was given by Katarzyna Zapała.
The course was held at the University of Barcelona under a project funded by EU funds titled “Numeracy in Practice”.
YC – Our project is a year old!
t has been a year since the kick-off meeting during which the project was organized. Like today, it was a sunny day in Poland
during which we had the opportunity to discuss the project details, plan forthcoming activities, and get to know each other! On the premises of Stowarzyszenie Integracja i Rozwój in Kielce we spent a couple of hours making sure that every activity that was planned in the project proposal was clear for us and we were well-prepared to implement them. But what else have we successfully achieved during the last 12 months? See the list below:
- We have developed the Handbook for Youth Workers: The Hows and Whys for cultural and creative entrepreneurship – which is available in 6 language versions: ENG, GR, PO, ES, SE, PL.
- We have started working on the blended-learning course for young people that includes topics such as: Introduction to cultural and creative entrepreneurship, Digital transformation and cultural and creative economy, Essential of entrepreneurship for the cultural and creative sector, Digital tools to develop content, artefacts and products for the cultural and creative sector.
- We organized online seminars for youth workers in Greece, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Poland to get feedback on the Handbook from the participants.
- We designed the project website (www.youngcult.eu), and FB profile (@YoungCultentrepreneurs). Follow us!
- We attended numerous online meetings to plan and sum up every project stage.
- We had the possibility to meet in person in Kielce (07/07/2022) and Seville (28/03/2023).
- We familiarised ourselves with the problem of cultural and creative entrepreneurship, and we discovered that there is a lot to do in this matter.
- and many, many more…
In the near future, we will start the recruiting process for the training. Thus, we warmly invite you to follow us!
