Humor helps strengthen social bonds – and we have scientific evidence to prove it!

As social beings, humans are designed to live in cooperation with others. Mutual aid, a willingness to cooperate, and caring are elements of our daily lives that result in increased levels of oxytocin in our bodies. According to the authors of a 2021 article (link to the article: journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0256229& utm), the increased need to form bonds among a larger number of individuals in situations where time is severely limited has led to shared laughter, dancing, emotional storytelling, and feasting becoming the foundation for building and strengthening interpersonal bonds. Shared laughter, in particular, helps break down barriers more quickly, making us more willing to cooperate and… be generous.

Our project focuses on the use of humor in working with young people sir.com.pl/en/project/laugh-together-bridging-differences-through-youth-comedy-clubs-01-12-2025-31-11-2027-erasmus-plus/
